Imagine the possibilities if you honoured the needs of your body, calmed your mind and listened to your soul. 

Why does it feel so hard to take care of our mind, body and soul? In a word, it's: expectations

 

We feel pushed and pulled to bend, contort and conform; to walk a path that is expected of us. We choose to walk the path that many others have walked before us, because we're afraid to veer off course. We're afraid of failure, of rejection and essentially, of loneliness.

 

We end up making choices based on what we 'should' do and who we 'should' be. We offer little consideration to what we truly desire, or what we really need. 

 

I know that you sometimes conjure up the courage to veer from the well worn paths; you know the ones, they've been walked many times before and come highly recommended by society. This kind of radical choice to make novel choices can be exciting and infuse our lives with new found energy and meaning. 

 

Unfortunately this is often temporary, with nagging and difficult to identify feelings and thoughts creeping in, enticing us to return to the sense of safety and security that being 'normal' and regular can offer. Familiarity and predictability once again reign supreme; anything to avoid feeling alone, misunderstood, unprepared or guilty.

 

I want you to know that there's more to life than conformity, there's ways to feel both safe and fulfilled whilst forging your own path, and listening to the knowings of your own Soul.

 

Living our lives according to our inner compass is the most important and valuable thing we can do for our health and happiness (and the entire world), it's the recipe for a wholehearted & meaning-full life.

Many of us have forgotten that we are divinely unique; that we are here to experience a journey which will be ours, and only ours. We may share our journeys with others: friends, family, colleagues, partners- but you are the only one who will ever walk in your shoes and express the unique essence of YOU. 

 

It is absolutely possible to find the strength to hear and honour your truth, to live your life wholeheartedly and in a way which works for you (without becoming overwhelmed by icky feelings). There are many roads leading to the top of the mountain, here I share some of the best ways I've discovered, to assist in this most important journey.
